Painting and Carving are inherent artistic activities in a man’s life. The metaphor is the artist’s language. Through it reality is synthesized or lost to represent objects, personages and to create one’s own language.
Sculpture, due to its three- dimensionality, is the activity with which I feel most related with. It is straight, it does exist and you can’t use gimmicks to make it. It is blunt. Painting is a mystery full of surprises. It shows up when it has to. It is a poetic window from reality.
As for me, creating has become a vital activity. I create, rehearse and experiment all the time. By doing so, I have been able to explain the world, life and creation. That is how I can approach to life itself.
Artistic Creation requires a constant will and work. With this Idea, I completely allow myself to put my hands on this activity, reinvent it and reinvent every new day.
The muse for my invention is all that surrounds me. My wife, my children, the rain, the sun, the moon, a book, a song and the like… anything I see that draws my attention is an excuse to create something. I might start sketching or doing a small model of any material. I can go directly to scrape wood or stone; I can model clay or paint over a big fabric. I even can involve myself in the casting bronze process. Everything depends on my mood. I allow this because that is how I maintain the seed of creation untouched.
This way I have been able to have a vast work. I have participated in sculptural international symposiums, and I have exhibited my work in many places, such as museums, Art Galleries, Cultural Houses, among some others. But anything of that can distract me, because finally what is the most important to me is sharing my personal point of view of the world.
