it seems we as artists always need to have a purpose behind what it is that we do.
some meaning.
something definitive.
our life, our work is anything but clear.
I suppose you could go on about how art is the reason, the passion, the light of ones soul, making it a more peaceful and love filled life.
I could go on with that line, that speech, however that would be just another bullshit statement.
Art is what it is.
I don't think there, really in my opinion, could ever be true boundaries set to such a broad term. Art to me is so closely connected to life that in it the saying that life imitates art and vice a verse, couldn't be further from the truth, i guess.you can stare for hours at an artists work trying to see, convinced you know what the artist was thinking or what the artist intended and still you will never really know. the outcome of art is all in the eyes of its beholders. the meanings, the feelings belong all to them.... but the truth of a piece is like life, you will never really know the exact answer.perhaps clarity and a search for reason and meaning is the gasoline that fuels my drive to create.
perhaps it's just madness.
